Happy Birthday, Nolan!  You are one today.

Wow, we can't believe how far Nolan has grown physically and emotionally and more than you can possibly imagine in our hearts and soul.  He is definitely coming into his own.

I mentioned before how much he loves the water.  Well, we didn't understand really how much till we went on vacation.  The little guy wanted to be in the pool all the time (at least 3 times per day) and even cried the first

few times you took him out.  We also found out that he really hates the shower.  Every time we put him in there with one of us for a quick wash to rinse off the chlorine, he would scream with his face beat red.  He also loves Elmo, hence the Elmo costume for Halloween.  He just lights up when he sees him and laughs when Elmo makes jokes or funny sounds.

For Nolan's birthday, we spent some quality time together after coming home from a fun family vacation to Cabo San Lucas with Auntie Katrine and Uncle Hawk and before daddy had to return to a crazy long work week.  He will have a birthday party with family and friends on November 16th.  Since Nolan loves the water and  aquariums so much, we spent the afternoon at the Maritime Aquarium mesmerizing over the beautiful water creatures and awwwhing over the sharks, at least he did.  TJ and I were not so welcoming to the shark tank.  Their jaws are quite scary.  After the Maritime, we got to enjoy some spaghetti which Nolan did pretty well considering it was his first formal adult solid dish (cut up finely, of course) in his life and then had some ice cream cake that he really loved.

This Wednesday, he will have his 1 year appointment.  We can't wait to see how well he is doing.  And, we are very curious to see how much he truly weighs because the kid is solid and pretty heavy.  I'm thinking he is at

least 22 lbs now.  We shall see.
