February 15, 2010

Hello to our friends, we are really starting to miss you all, and I really miss our dogs Oscar and Felix, but they are having a great time with our dear friend Dean and his dog Dale E. We really have to think what day it is as each day is the same, but the weather is NOT the same as last week today it is 11, not - just 11 above. It really feels so warm; I am so excited to see how warm it feels, like a heat wave. Maybe, but I will take it already as we look out of the hotel window the park is a buzz with people walking something we have not seem before today.

As usual we get up take showers and get ready for breakfast. I also check my email, and what a surprise to have my dear friend Karene Skype me. What a wonderful surprise and it was so clear un like other times it was so good to talk to her it made me feel like I was at home. Thanks Karene lets do this again soon.

Breakfast at the Hotel is always interesting. Today we were able to have rice pudding or cream cakes, eggs, pancakes, tomatoes, cucumber or buttermilk to drink OJ and coffee, cannot forget that. It is al good just not what I would normally choose for breakfast, but as we said when in Kaz do as the Kaz do - works well.

Next stop the baby house. Our little one was in the big play pen and as I walked towards him I called his name he whipped his head around and began smiling and kicking his legs and fussing for me to pick him up. I am thinking soon I will be able to walk in his room every day at home and pick him up and have him to love all day every day not just a couple of hours a day we cannot wait. Again after a half hour he shows signs of being tired and just wants to be held, but before this he was jumping and swaying his head to a musical phone, just so cute. Each day we fall more and more in love with this little man. Isabel is such a wonderful big sister and he watches her every move, and I think he is beginning to understand we will do anything for him, which is a wonderful feeling believe me little man it is going to get even better, this is only the beginning.

Today we have a new friend in the group, a cute little baby boy, they brought him in today he was very scared, but did give me a little smile.

Dominic is really missing his TV. At the moment he is watching Animal Planet in Russian. We have lots of channels but only BBC news in English, Isabel jokes are you that desperate for TV.

After lunch and our daily walk it was time to head out to the baby house for our afternoon visit. Again our little one saw me coming and began really fussing for me to pick him up, which is such a good thing to see because last week he would not have done this, small, but important steps. After I picked him up, I always say hi to all of his friends. Well today after they all smiled they all began to cry I guess they too wanted to be picked up. It was also feeding time I felt so bad. Today a local family came to pick up their new son, a cute little Kazak boy. They seemed so happy to be bringing him home, and kept saying our son, our son.

Today we ate the lunch really well until it came to the tea, well I don't know how I did it but luckily he stayed dry for the 2nd day in a row. I am getting better, but my pants and slippers were soaked, oh well better it be me than him. Again he was very happy and was really playing peek a boo over Dominic's shoulder with Victoria. He was laughing so loud and going from one side to the other. The time flew by and it was time to say paka paka until tomorrow. It will be wonderful when we no longer have to say paka paka and he is home with us, we know all in good time.

Because the weather is warmer, Victoria took us to a museum which was a local city history museum. It was just the right size to take every thing in. Isabel enjoyed hearing about the history of Semey, the city her brother was born in there was also a lot on the war and nuclear testing, all very interesting to learn about, but no pictures allowed, sorry.

As it was almost dinner time, we went for an early dinner to get pizza. They have a few strange combinations, but great pizza. Isabel loves the milk shakes or cocktails as they are called here.

Well the clothes are calling to be washed, so I guess that's it for today, we hope you are all enjoying your 3 day weekend.
