About Us

We live in Darien Connecticut and we have 2 dogs, Oscar and Felix.

Two years ago, I had the opportunity to travel with my best friend Carolyn to Kazakhstan to bring home her son Henry. While I was standing in the baby house, I felt a real pull to adopt, but thought we cannot do this we are too old!!!!! Sounds so silly now - you are only as old as you feel. I kind of ignored these feelings, but really could not stop thinking about all the little faces, and finally said we can do this. Dominic was not so sure at first.

The road to adoption is not without many twists turns and a lot of bumps. People always tell us to keep our eye on the prize, but that is not always easy for me. I like to know when everything is going to happen. That’s not something that is part of adoption, although I think I have gotten better. Others may not agree.

I really cannot wait to add to our family. Our daughter has asked for so many years for a sibling, now it is about to happen.

I have spent so many hours, days, and weeks thinking about our child to be. Will it be a he or a she? To us it really does not matter. What will I feel when the caregiver comes through the door holding our child? Some how it all seems so surreal, but it is going to happen, and soon.

We cannot wait for the next step in this journey and we hope you are as excited as we are.

Isabel is coming with us and asks every week if we know when we will leave. She is going to love her sibling and already talks like she is already in love. They will be many years apart, but in some ways it will be nice. She has so much love to give and so much to share. We cannot wait to see this relationship blossom.
