Pre-Trip

As I sit here writing this last post from the comfort of our home, there were so many times that I thought this week would never come, and now we are just days away from leaving. You would think that we would be very organized. WRONG. But, we are getting there, our bags are almost packed, and the dog sitter is taken care of.

I have tried to think of everything, but new things come to mind every day. We feel so excited to be boarding the plane that will take us to our child’s birth country. Even though I have been to Kaz, this time is different. We get to meet our own forever child. My heart beats faster just writing this.

So, many thoughts are going around in my head. I liken it to being a young child, counting how many more nights until I could open my presents. Every morning when I wake up, I am another night closer to meeting you!!!!

My heart aches to meet this special little person who will complete our family. I cannot wait to get to know our new child and for him to begin to accept and feel our love as it unfolds before our very eyes. Our daughter Isabel is so ready to be a Big Sister. She is the only one who is all packed, school work and all.

There are so many people who have been by our sides from the beginning and have listened to all MY moans and groans. The first is our dear friend Carolyn who has been a book of information about adoption. She adopted Henry at 9 months, so we are hopeful that she can help guide us in the near future. Our agency, WHAL, who always make themselves available to answer any questions we may have, has made everything as smooth as possible. And Lea, who always finds the right thing to say to make me stop and really think before I make a rash decision.

Both Carolyn and Lea both have kaz cuties, so our child will already have built in play mates from Kaz.

Dean, our good friend, is moving in our house to take care of our 4 legged children Felix and Oscar. We will miss you boys!!!!

To my employers who have given me this time off - Thank you.

Our next post will be a step closer to meeting our child. We thank everybody for their support and hope you follow along on this journey of love to meet our child. We really value you as friends.

3days and counting!!!!!!!!!

Amanda, Dominic and Isabel.
